
From the Capital Beltway (495), exit on route 66 west.
Travel to the end of route 66.Exit onto route 81 south towards Roanoke.
Just south of Harrisonburg, take Exit # 240 (route 257) west to Bridgewater.
Turn right at the end of the ramp towards Bridgewater. Travel 3.2 miles
until the road dead-ends.
Turn left at the light onto route 42 south.
Travel on route 42 south for approx. 11.7 miles. Stay left at the sharp
curve in the road (brown sign for Natural Chimneys).
Turn right on Jennings
Gap Road (route 736). It is less than one mile after a farm called
"Fox Meadow" located
on your right.
Travel on Jennings Gap Road (route 736) for 3.4 miles until
the road dead-ends.
Turn right on route 250 west towards McDowell. You
will go over 3 mountains (Shenandoah, Shaws Ridge and Bull Pasture)
which are very steep and curvy.
Go into the town of McDowell.
Turn right on Doe Hill Rd. (route 654) towards Doe Hill
and travel 4.4 miles.
Turn right on Keister Hollow Rd. (route
618) and travel to the end of the road. It is a gravel and dirt
road. There is a big, white barn with a green roof and a silo
that sits on the right side of the road just before Keister Hollow Rd.
(route 618). At the end of the road, go straight thru the entrance (orange
metal gate), onto the ranch. Follow the road up to the ranch.
*** Bull Pasture Mountain
Ranch is about a 3-½ hours drive from the Washington
Metropolitan area.
*** On your
return, to find Jennings Gap Road, it is 2.2 miles after you pass ‘White
Ways Restaurant’ on your left.
